Japan concerned about “no deal Brexit”

The Japanese minister of foreign affairs stated to be worried about the results of a no deal Brexit. Taro Kono stated that more than 1.000 Japanese companies operating from the UK are very concerned about the possible negative results for their operations. Kono urged the 2 prime minister candidates, Boris Johnson and Jeremy Hunt, to prevent a no deal Brexit. The economic cooperation between Japan and UK might be damaged. Kono mentioned that some companies moved their operations to other places on the continent, due to Brexit uncertainty. Especially the car industry has great concerns about the free flow of parts. Planning in this industry is very tight and stock is just minimal. Production stand still might be the danger in case of frequent customs controls.
