Unfortunately uncertainty around Brexit continues, although we come closer to the deadline and a no deal Brexit is still realistic.
Internal investigations proved that the majority of the importers in the UK are not yet fully prepared or even started preparations for Brexit.
To minimize problems after a possible no deal Brexit, it is important that your importers will prepare.
Below 3 steps are very important:
1. Importers should have an EORI number (Economic Operator Registration and Identification).
2. Importers should register for Transitional Simplified Procedures (TSP). After recognizing the EORI in the EU database, which can take up to 10 days, importers should get the Transitional Simplified Procedures (TSP) approval.
3. Importers should appoint a customs agent who can act on their behalf and can arrange import clearances according to TSP or export declarations in case of possible exports to mainland EU.
